Curly Monkey is offering our readers a giveaway of
FOUR organic cloth baby wipes, a value of $18.45.
From our reviewer, Julia of A Little Bit of All of It:
I was excited for the opportunity to review four organic cloth wipes from CurlyMonkey. All of the products CurlyMonkey sells are free from pesticides, insecticides and harmful fertilizers, which makes me feel good about using these wipes on my little girl.
Specifically I was sent one each of the Organic Eco-friendly Cloth Baby Wipes in Paris Tea, Collection Trèfle and Think Peace prints, along with one Maxi Hemp Organic Cotton French Terry Cloth Baby Wipe (2 ply).
First of all, these wipes are BEAUTIFUL! The designs are lovely. I really enjoyed just looking at them and was almost afraid to use them! The prints are a high-quality designer cotton fabric on one side with the other side being an organic hemp / organic cotton french terry.
The Maxi Hemp wipe is handsewn unbleached, dye-free, organic fabric with one side being smooth while the other side is textured for messier jobs, like wiping dirty bottoms.
I have been using cloth diapers since my daughter was a newborn (now 2 years old) along with cloth wipes so cloth wipes aren't new to me. But these are MUCH nicer than the ones I've been using. It definitely makes a mundane task fun!
If you are already cloth diapering your baby, it makes sense to use cloth wipes as well. These would be a great addition to your cloth diapering routine as something nicer and more special. I actually get excited when I go to change my daughter and see the next wipe is one of these!

Author and fellow natural parent Christina Fletcher is offering our readers a giveaway of
Who They Really Are: A guide to being a spiritually aware parent, a $15 value.
From our reviewer, Laura of Walden Mommy:
I can be really, really picky about what religious books I read. It seems like most books fall into extremes that I am not: super conservatives or very liberal. I try not to "throw the baby out with the bathwater" and read all the books with an open mind, taking what I want and leaving the rest.
However, Who They Really Are: A Guide to Being a Spiritually Aware Parent, by Christina Fletcher, is not so much about religion as it is about being in tune with your child. She defines their spirit or soul as Who They Really Are. She writes that children are born with a pure energy and Contrast (pain, unhappiness) is introduced into their lives with birth. It is our job as parents to bring them back to the Center and help re-establish the pure, positive energy into their lives.
…
This book would be a wonderful and unique baby shower or blessingway gift. Although it is a book about spirituallity, it is suitable for parents who adhere to a demonimation or those who do not. Because it is fairly short (169 pages), it is the perfect reading length for a new parent who might be overwhelmed by a thicker tome. Fletcher's writing cuts right to the point with quick and easy tips but is gentle and kind in its delivery.

I had the joy of
hearing midwife Ina May Gaskin speak in Seattle and would like to offer my
Ina May-signed copy of Birth Matters: A Midwife's Manifesta to one reader who wasn't lucky enough to have seen her in person!
(You can read
my full account of Ina May Gaskin's presentation at Hobo Mama, and find
Amy of Anktangle's take on her blog.)
Birth Matters is Ina May Gaskin's latest book, published just this year.
The book is described
here as "a spirited manifesta showing us how to trust women, value birth, nurture families, and reconcile modern life with a process as old as our species." I've resisted reading this copy so I don't ruin it for the winner, and I'm still in line for it at the library. But in a brief flip-through, I'm already entranced.
Don't you adore the cover? That's Ina May herself with her newborn son Samuel.
The book is
worth $17 (plus the priceless autograph!), and I will gladly mail it
anywhere in the world.
The contest ends
June 6, because it's my anniversary and sounds pretty. I'll most likely even have gone through my next birth by then!
Here's my stalker-ish proof that I stood in line for the autograph!

Roundhouse Design Collaborative is offering our readers a giveaway of an
Oh Plah! Teething Cuff! This latex-free, BPA-free, phthalate-free, recyclable teething bracelet looks perfect on parents, but it's safe and fun for babies and kids to play with, bend, twist, and chew. This giveaway is open to US, Canadian, and EU addresses.
From our reviewer, The ArtsyMama:
As I looked at the product description I began to get excited: it is latex free! Little Man and I are both allergic to latex, and it is sometimes difficult to find products that do not contain natural rubber or latex even though we would love to try them.
…
Caryn sent us the green Oh Plah! with the windmill design for our review. It arrived in a little box with very simple cardboard packaging. The bracelet slipped out easily and onto my wrist. After I admired it a bit, I washed it as per the instructions and let Little Man have a try. Green is his favorite color and he immediately stared at the cuff and turned it around in his hands to study it some more. He placed it on his wrist and smiled at me. The first time he was introduced to the bracelet he played with it for 30 minutes. In Little Man time that is an eternity.
…
This is probably the most fun, versatile and simple toy we have right now. Little Man is not much of a biter when he teethes, but he does love to manipulate objects with his hands. It has become part of our daily ritual as I put him in the carseat — he takes the bracelet from my wrist and plays during our car ride home. It keeps him occupied during our car trips. He squishes, stretches, wears, bites and studies the Oh Plah! It has not lost its shape, shine or design either.
